The Sacred Heart Scouts is an informal, local father and son scouting group for boys ages 5 to 16. The troop is associated with the Institute of Christ the King at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and serves Catholics in the East Bay.  Parents assume all risks for them and their son at all events.  We are only an informal group of parents with no formal affiliation with either St. Margaret Mary Church of The ICKSP.

The Troops of St. George apostolate aims to use the outdoors and the sacraments to light the way of formation for Catholic men and boys and assist their growth in virtue and faith as they journey towards heaven.

  • Gow in virtue and fidelity through outdoor adventure

  • Teach or learn archery, camping, fishing, and survival skills

  • Pray the rosary with your brothers in Christ around a campfire

  • Encourage priestly vocations and reverence for marriage

Troop 1793 is affiliated with the Institute of Christ the King at St. Margaret Mary Church and serves Catholic men and boys primarily in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area

If we understand anything that relates to your scoutship, it is that there are two signs characteristic of the good and brave Scout, and in these two signs are summed up all the others that might be mentioned. These are prudence and courage.

Prudence, industrious, watchful, quick, scrutinous, resourceful and observant! Courage, that is to say, that state of soul which fears nothing save God and evil; God, and that which offends Him, that darkens at the same time the nobility and dignity of the soul. And so there are these two qualities, this prudence and this courage, which you must carry into your Catholic life and profession.
